 Gregg Lapointe, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Gregg Lapointe joined Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in September 2001 as Vice President of Finance. In August 2002, he became Vice President of Operations, in November 2003, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer and in April 2008, he was elected Chief Executive Officer.
Before joining Sigma-Tau, Gregg was Vice President of Operations and Vice President, Controller of AstenJohnson, Inc, (formerly JWI Inc.). Prior to AstenJohnson, Gregg spent 5 years in the Canadian medical products industry in a variety of roles, including Vice President and General Manager of a large medical products distributor and Chief Financial Officer of a medical products manufacturer. Gregg began his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Gregg’s background includes extensive experience in the areas of global strategic planning and implementation, business development, corporate finance, and acquisitions.
Gregg holds a BA in commerce from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, a graduate diploma in accountancy from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and an MBA from Duke University—The Fuqua School of Business in Durham, North Carolina. He is a certified public accountant (Illinois) and a chartered accountant (Canada).
Gregg is a member of the PhRMA Board of Directors and a member of the Corporate Council of the National Organization for Rare Diseases (NORD).
Gregg resides with his wife Katherine in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
